October 26: I miss you!

Here I am almost 2 months after the official end of my Year of The Right Brain. I have often thought of you, my readers. Apparently, you have been thinking of me too. I hear loud and clear from you that my blog entries have been missed.

I also miss the writing, the photo taking, the view of the world with the intent of reporting at day”s end.

It isn’t as if I don’t want to continue this blog. My life, which is usually quite crazy, upped a notch in early September. I finished my assessment report, for which I have been deployed by the Red Cross to Cameroon. Then as a bonus to the mission, I

applied and received funding to implement two projects. The first project involves developing a school hygiene program in LimbĂ©’s primary schools. I make time for this--lots of hard work but certainly fun and gratifying. I worked literally to the last minute, transferring files on the way to the airport.

I return home to Toronto, but do not stay long--just long enough to drop off my bags, do my laundry, and head to my Vancouver home. My parents have been waiting long to see me. Skyping can only go so far in replacing a visit in person.

I immerse myself in art once again. A visit to Boston to the Museum of Fine Arts, Isabella Gardner Museum, Peabody-Essex Museum in Salem. I spend time with Craig and Carolyn. I meet up with David and Helene. I return to Toronto to see Chagall’s colourful tableaux.

Theatre going, dining with friends and fellow foodies. My first work shift. I am adjusting back to life in Canada. It is good. But then so was life in Cameroon.

P.S. I am back posting entries written during my Cameroon mission. Check them out (June 19 to August 31). These will be done in increments.
