I attempt to get food from Agave & Aguacate and again am foiled by the non-presence of the chef. Is this why he went down market from Scaramouche (Scaramouche is one of the top fine dining restaurants in Toronto) to a hidden Latin food court? I see signs of his presence though: half-prepped vegies, oil in the deep fryer, drinks in the dispenser. I wait for a good fifteen minutes, then opt for Enoc’s Pupusa Gourmet offerings, which are delicious in their own right. I finish off with Agave’s rich lime charlotte topped with lime zest and olive oil.
I am happy that Sylvia makes time for me during her whirlwind visit to Toronto (see blog entry Sep 8). We dine well at Grace along with another LSHTM alum friend, Lu.
