November 19: Viewing rain forests at the speed of a bullet

I forced myself to slow down today. Instead of heading to the cloud forest in the morning and a canopy tour in the afternoon, all I schedule for the day is my canopy tour, then some down time in a hammock.

I go in deep, signing up for Extremo Adventures. Wow! The ziplining above the rainforest is pure adrenaline fun. I have singled myself out as trouble--braking too early on one line and unable to brake at another. Good thing Luke and his colleagues keep me safe. Luke is an American who has no plans to ever leave Costa Rica, realizing a dream that many North Americans have. But then, I rather like the life I have right now.

I meet fellow zipliners, Tina and Mikey from Mountain View, California. It turns out Tina has the same last name as I do! We meet up again for dinner at Trios, which will likely be the best meal I have in Costa Rica. Foodies can certainly appreciate the Costa Rican Cobb salad with palm hearts, cashews, and passion fruit dressing, and the cream of palm fruit soup. I think I´ll have to return for a second meal tomorrow.
