November 3: Good morning, Toronto!

I wake up by 4:15 in preparation for a call from Metro Morning. I will chat with Matt Galloway as part of their new feature, “Where are you listening?”

I am ecstatic that I’ve been invited to talk on my favourite radio show.

We get our instructions on hurricane preparations this morning. Tomas, by all predictions, should be hitting Haiti within the next 2 days. Errol, a Jamaican Red Cross delegate with many years of hurricane preparedeness experience, is directing us with his calming air of confidence. Planned activities will have to be cancelled Thursday and Friday. The ambulance workers training will have to wait until the storm clears--another loop in this whole situation.

There is a call out for help in the kitchen during this hurricane. I restrain myself. I had such a fun time running the Carrefour Hospital kitchen for 8 days when I was last in Haiti. But then, I already have long days ahead trying to accomplish what I have come to do.
