Swish swish. I hear the distinct hum of skis gliding through snow. Conditions are perfect on the groomed ski trails today. Since I started working up here in the north, I have been cross country skiing, hitting the trails after work for an hour or so. I did not fall today. Hurray! I’ve improved since I first started 7 winters ago. I should learn to respect the northern lands though. I had some scary moments as dusk began to fall. Being disoriented without lighting and falling temperatures (minus 13 Celsius and lower) is not a good thing. Lesson learned: bring a light.
We deviate from our usual hospital garb to attend the hospital’s Christmas party. I can hardly recognize some of them, all prettied up in fancy frocks and updo’s.
