I love Handel’s Messiah and I love soul music. What about combining the two? I attend Ballet Creole’s Soulful Messiah, a dance interpretation to this quintessential holiday favourite. What a wonderful way to “Rejoice” and sing “Hallelujah” dancing to a soul version of Handel’s Messiah!
Tonight, I stretch my culinary experience into yet another direction. I first heard about Maria and her Guerrilla Gourmet 4 years ago on CBC Radio. She serves wild herbs as main courses, accompanied by local produce. We are heading into winter, yet Maria is still able to source lots of local fresh greens. We take time to inhale the aromas, to note the textures and flavours, to sate ourselves with the vegetarian fare. All this is served up in Maria’s home with some lively conversation provided by my eating companions.
