A veritable winter storm is raging outside.
I think I am coming down with the flu that my friends have been fighting. This is the down side of not working--not being exposed to this season’s crop of germs and therefore not developing immunity.
I take a down day. My amaryllis blooms in time for me to enjoy. I eat at home for a change. Good thing--I have to finish all my perishables before my trip back up to Atikokan tomorow. I gather all my leftovers for a pretty decent meal: fresh oyster mushrooms sautéed in butter and garlic, mixed greens, chickpea chaat salad, and vegepaté (see photo). Not bad for leftovers, eh?
I have a bit of cabin fever by the end of the day. I end up going to Second City’s well reviewed “Something Awesome Wicked This Way Comes”. It’s a great way to warm up for my upcoming improv classes. The show starts off poking fun at the G20 security then continues with how intolerable iPhone addicts are. I certainly could relate to both (I would play the part of the iPhone addict). A good laugh was had by all.
