Chalky white pellets are strewn on the sidewalk. My thoughts take the path of least resistance to the left brain: calcium chloride, which dissolves into 3 ions, lowers water’s freezing point more than sodium chloride's 2 ions.
I head over to Mexican Salsas for a casual event with my group. We devour taquitos and churros in Kensington Market. We discover more food adventures at a Latin American food court: coronas, cassava balls, pupusas, and more. Kimchi empanada is on offer. So Toronto! A Chilean man marries a Korean woman, then opens up an empanada shop. Some of us, true to our foodaholic label, add to our sated selves. I try to be good and head out the door without, vowing to return for more.
I pack up my woolies to head back to the great white north. Commuting to work involves a 2 hour flight, followed by a 2 hour drive. I do cringe at the carbon footprint.
